TAKING ACTION THROUGH...
Our main focus at this time is collecting funds to supply those in need who were affected by the wildfires on Maui. Whether it be physical supplies such as food, clothing, toiletries, school supplies, etc. or monetary donations to individual families that were affected. This is an evolving circumstance and we are dedicated to helping those in need for the long-run. There will be many obstacles our community will face and we will be there to help in any way we can.
Community Hubs
monetary Donations
Convoys to Lahaina
Our Maui community has come together in the most special way and created numerous hubs on the central, south and mauka (mountain) parts of the island. They have continued to update their needs and we will continue to fulfill the supply. Check our blog for updates on specific community needs!
Individual families have been affected and need funds to buy supplies or subsidize their loss of income due to the fires. We have donated money to families to help with particular needs or to give them the chance to purchase personal items themselves.
Ikaika Construction, the business of founders Jacqueline and Kama Homan, has been given the clearance to travel to the west side through the County of Maui to deliver supplies to those in need throughout Lahaina. They have made numerous trips with trucks and trailers full of pallets of supplies to the local homes and community hubs on the west side of the island.
physical donations
partnering with Local businesses
Ikaika Foundation has collected numerous physical donations from Chicago to California and have distributed them according to the needs of the community. When Maui was depleted of supplies the week of the fires, outside donors came in through their efforts to bring in what was needed immediately.
From the beginning we have partnered with several local businesses such as Eskimo Candy Seafood Supply, Vitalitea Kombucha, Sparky's Food Company, and more to help distribute and supply those in need.
